  • U.S. ocean imports totaled 2,459,159 shipments in Q4 2022, up 13.0% versus Q3 2022 and down 13.5% year-over-year.
  • The highest-volume import category was Nonadjustable, and parts thereof (HS 820411), with 71,986 shipments (+164.8% quarter-over-quarter).
  • The fastest-growing high-volume category was Cranberries, blueberries and other fruits of the genus Vaccinium (HS 081040), up 193.0% from the prior quarter to 5,204 shipments.
  • The steepest decline among high-volume categories was Retreaded or used pneumatic tires of rubber, other (HS 401290), down 55.9% quarter-over-quarter.
  • CHINA was the largest origin country with 931,055 shipments — 37.9% of all U.S. ocean imports.
  • The busiest U.S. port of entry was LONG BEACH, CA, receiving 451,473 shipments.
  • The largest importer by shipment count was IKEA SUPPLY AG, with 34,801 shipments.
